Escrow Officer

About the role

Fairfax Title is looking for an experienced Escrow Officer to join our Preston Center team. You'll manage residential resale closings from contract receipt through funding and disbursement, working directly with real estate agents, lenders, buyers, and sellers across North Dallas and Collin County. This is a hands-on role with real ownership — you'll be the point of contact on your files, backed by a collaborative team and leadership that knows the work.

What you'll do

• Open and manage residential files from receipt of contract through post-closing

• Review title commitments, survey, and curative items; coordinate clearance with underwriting counsel as needed

• Prepare CDs and settlement statements in coordination with lenders; balance with lender figures prior to closing

• Conduct closings in person and remotely, explaining documents clearly to buyers and sellers

• Handle earnest money, disburse funds in compliance with TDI regulations, and manage 1099-S reporting

• Maintain clean, well-documented files and communicate proactively with agents and lenders throughout the transaction

• Work alongside escrow assistants and processors to keep files moving on schedule

• Participate in continuing education and stay current on TREC, TAR, and TDI updates

What we're looking for

• Active Texas Escrow Officer license in good standing

• 3+ years of residential closing experience in the DFW market; North Dallas and Collin County familiarity strongly preferred

• Working knowledge of TREC and TAR promulgated forms, title commitments, schedule B exceptions, and common curative items

• Comfort with CD preparation and lender coordination on purchase transactions

• Strong communication skills and a client-service mindset — agents and their clients should enjoy closing with you

• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage a full pipeline without losing track of the little things

• Established relationships with DFW agents and lenders are a plus
